I retrieved an article from PRDaily.com titled, The 5 Little Things You Should Do on Social Media Every Day.” The article discusses how we can get caught up in all of our different social media and how it can be overwhelming at times. It points to how we sometimes forget the social aspect of the media by forgetting to interact and communicate as they were designed for.

The #1 point is “A Little Chit Chat” and says to say hello and maintain constant communication. Point #2 is “A Little RTing” and mentions we should give our followers positive feedback. Point #3 is “A Little Following” which points to the importance of following friends, co-workers, professionals, etc. Point #4 is “A Little Advertising” and stresses the “little” aspect of it; you don’t want to overdo it. The final point #5 is “A Little Damage Control” that tells to fix any issues immediately! If you keep current with these 5 pointers, you will find yourself more involved with your social media.

In an article titled, “Will win in Asian Games help Shin-Soo Choo avoid military?” that I retrieved from CNN.com, I learned of the Korean customary actions for young men in the military. All healthy men over the age of 20 in Korea are required to serve at least 2 years in the military. Korean athletes are offered exemption from military service if they take home gold in the Asian Games. The Cleveland Indians outfielder Shin-Soo Choo recently helped South Korea win the Gold medal over Taiwan in the Asian Games. Ten members of the team are awaiting their confirmation for release from their military obligation and Choo is one of them.

I retrieved an articled titled, “Sexiest Man Alive: Ryan Reynolds,” from People.com in which the actor was coined “The Sexiest Man Alive” for 2010. Having beat out hundreds of celebrities worldwide such as Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr., I have to say he was the right choice. People Magazine quotes, “He’s Canadian (and proud of it!), he can make “a mean omelet” and his eight-pack abs have caused millions to swoon. But what makes PEOPLE’s 25th anniversary Sexiest Man honoree so very special? Perhaps his self-deprecating humor.” So it seems that his charming good looks and charming fun-spirited personality combination got him the title. It certainly is good to know that Hollywood is not being completely superficial in their categorization of “sexy” by incorporating personality traits into their justification.

Apple MacBook Air

In an article I retrieved from CNN.com titled, “Apple’s new MacBook Air: As if a laptop ‘hooked up’ with an iPad,” I learned about the new laptop Apple plans to release this week. The new macbook is around 2 pounds and doesn’t have a dvd player or a hard drive. The MacBook Air laptops will be available to buy in 11- and 13-inch-display models. The smaller size costs $999, and the larger costs $1,299. The macbook will be using a flash storage device that many of the newer portable apple devices are using. I personally have never owned an apple laptop or cell phone. The only apple product I use is the Ipod. I would like to own one one day and the technological improvements they contain are amazing.

As many know, the spooky sequel Paranormal Activity 2 is hitting the theatres October 22. After the original was such a big hit and blew up the box office, the directors decided a second picture was a good idea. After experiencing what they think are a series of “break-ins”, a family sets up security cameras around their home, only to realize that the events unfolding before them are more sinister than they seem. I am excited to view the film.

I saw the first one and was scared to death because I was under the false pretense that the movie was a real document found and that the characters were real people who had died. I was relieved to find out that everything was faux! I hope the second film is as scary as the first!

In an article retrieved from People.com titled, “Texting Not Blamed in Fatal Crash of Heidi Montag’s Plastic Surgeon,” I learned of the death of Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan. He died in a car accident driving on Pacific Coast Road that he travelled between work and his home in Malibu. His friends think texting may have been the cause of the accident, however there is no proof. It was not stated in the police report that being on his phone had any cause of the wreck, however, tweets he updated a couple minutes before the accident give reason to believe he was using his cell phone. This is just another example of how dangerous using your cell phone is while driving and hopefully will spread more awareness.

I retrieved an article from PRDaily.com that discusses the usage of business cards in today’s society. It is a surprise that business cards are flourishing now days because with the modern technology, most paper products have diminished. Staples reported with some surprise that demand for business cards has increased, with double-digit growth over the past three years. There is something about business cards that is more “intimate” the article states. I agree with the fact that technology is taking over and it is good to know that some of the traditional objects are still being utilized.
